Food Pantry/Clothing Cupboard
Program: Help*Works Community Resource
The Food Pantry and Clothing Cupboard are located in the same place, 20 Chapel Street Mt. Morris, and volunteer opportunities exist to assist both of these charities in the community. Below is a list of some of the ways you could volunteer your time to help the less fortunate:
- Intake Volunteer- Gathers information from clients for both the Clothing Cupboard and Pantry. Makes sure intake room is orderly.
- Floater- Walks between the Clothing Cupboard and Pantry in order to address any problems that might arise. Also answers clients questions, and assists shoppers who can not shop by themselves.
- Freezer Volunteer- Assists clients with freezer/refrigerated food.
- Stocker- Ensures the pantry shelves are well stocked, and sorts through any Clothing Cupboard donations.
- Foodlink Helper- Helps unload items from the Foodlink truck (every other Monday)
Training:
- Meet with Help*Works program director for information on procedures.
- Staff is on-site and available for questions, information, and support.
Qualifications:
- Personable, comfortable interacting with clients and children.
- Responsible
- Punctual
Time:
Flexible, volunteers can decide how much time they would like to volunteer and when. The Clothing Cupboard and Pantry hours are: Tues 9-12, Wed 1-3, and Thurs 9-12 & 5-7.
